Locked on Twins POSTCAST: Twins Offense Falls Flat, Spoiling Strong SWR Debut
Brandon and Nash Walker have their rapid reaction to Simeon Woods Richardson pitching well in his debut, only for the offense to let him down in a 5-2 loss in Detroit
Things started out bumpy for Simeon Woods Richardson in his big-league debut, as he allowed a pair of runs in the first inning and nearly a third before replay review ruled that Miguel Cabrera was out at home plate.
But Woods Richardson rebounded to throw five solid innings, fanning three and walking two while throwing 61 of his 91 pitches for strikes.
Unfortunately, the Twins offense never got on track — scoring two runs in the fifth but otherwise going quietly into the night (or afternoon) in a 5-2 loss at Comerica Park.
The Twins are 77-82 with three games to play in Chicago, and are guaranteed to finish below .500 for the second straight season.
