The Minnesota Twins will start one of their top pitching prospects in game one of Wednesday's doubleheader at Yankee Stadium. Louie Varland, 24, has been fantastic in four starts for the St.Paul Saints, posting a 1.69 ERA in 21 1/3 innings. Varland is a native of North St.Paul and pitched at Concordia St.Paul. The Twins selected Varland with the 449th pick in the 2019 draft. Varland won Twins Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2021 after an amazing season at both A-levels.
