The Minnesota Twins willed their way to an 8-4 victory in Friday's series opener at Fenway Park. Byron Buxton left the game in the first inning after a slide into second base. Joe Ryan started and pitched extremely well, surrendering only one run and striking out seven Red Sox in six innings. Twins pitchers struck out 13 and walked zero.
