Twins lose a heartbreaker Thursday, basically kiss away division title

The Twins lost three out of four to the White Sox in Chicago. Kenta Maeda started Wednesday and was solid for five innings, allowing only two solo home runs. The Twins' offense was once again led by Byron Buxton, who homered twice. Josh Donaldson also homered and was then ejected for kicking dirt on home plate in disdain of the home plate umpire. The Twins are three games back of the White Sox with only eight games remaining on the season.
